Introduction of the principal characters… In the first scene, the rebel Chichita, is taken prisoner, while Diego, a.k.a. Zorro, watches, powerless. Chichita is to be executed during the party to celebrate Diego's homecoming, but, in the nick of time, Zorro appears and frees him. After a manhunt that ends in a sword fight between Zorro and Lieutenant Gabriel, Chichita escapes, and makes a getaway in a boat he finds hidden in a creek.
